The Kenney Canine Semen Extender Kit allows for storage of cooled semen for use up to 48 hours later. Prevents agglutination of spermatozoa. Use of the Kenney Canine Semen Extender Kit maintains a higher percent of forward motility over time as compared to raw semen. Increases the insemination dose volume, making it easier to handle and minimizing spermatozoa loss in equipment such as pipettes. Contains gentamicin to help destroy infectious pathogens.
A ratio of 1 part semen to 4 parts extender is generally recommended, but ratios between 1:1 and 1:4 may be acceptable. Use within 8 hours of mixing, or freeze small portions in sterile containers for up to 6 months.
